Dental Care in Dogs and Cats

There is one part of your pet that you are very likely neglecting. Every day we look after their appearance – brushes, conditioners, perfumes, ribbons and grooming treatments.

Yes, today we are going to talk about dental care and why it is actually so important.

Periodontal disease is the most common disease in dogs (87%) and cats (70%) over 3 years of age! Dental disease left to progress always brings problems with the heart, kidneys and liver in its wake.

Indicators of a problem: bad breath, avoiding biting down, a change in the way of eating, fear of food.

Tartar forms through the build-up of dental plaque and its mineralisation.

Therapy includes removal of tartar under anaesthesia, both on the surface and below the gum line.
